Diagnostic Technician - Swindon
Location: Swindon
Salary: £40,000 basic + bonus
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
We are currently recruiting an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join a busy and modern workshop in Swindon.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Technician who enjoys fault-finding, diagnostics and solving more complex technical problems. You'll work across a range of modern vehicles, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles, with ongoing technical training and development available.
The Role
As a Diagnostic Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards
• Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical faults
• Using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical information
• Carrying out fault analysis and road testing where required
• Interpreting diagnostic information and identifying the root cause of faults
• Working on hybrid and electric vehicles alongside conventional powertrains
• Working closely with Technicians, Service Advisors and the wider workshop team
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently and to a high standard

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Service & Repair or equivalent
• Strong experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician
• Excellent mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
• A methodical approach to fault-finding and problem solving
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 7 points

Previous experience working with Volkswagen Group brands, including Volkswagen, Skoda, SEAT, CUPRA or Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, would be advantageous. However, experienced Diagnostic Technicians from other manufacturer backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
