Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established and growing construction business based in Leeds who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is a key role within the business, offering the chance to take full commercial ownership of multiple projects while working closely with senior leadership. You will play a vital part in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, on time, and to a high standard.
The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from initial tender through to final account.
You will be overseeing several live projects (typically up to 5-6 at any one time), each with values up to £3 million, across the Yorkshire region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and managing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
- Producing client valuations and applications for payment
- Managing and agreeing variations with clients
- Cost planning, forecasting, and budget control
- Procuring and appointing subcontractors
- Negotiating subcontract packages and agreements
- Reviewing subcontractor payments and variations
- Administering and managing contract documentation (JCT)
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting project delivery teams to ensure programmes and budgets are met
- Leading final account negotiations with clients and subcontractors
About You To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
Requirements: - Minimum 7+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying within construction
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong commercial awareness and financial control skills
- Experience working on projects up to £3 million
- Good working knowledge of JCT contracts
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Proficient in IT systems and commercial reporting tools
- Proactive, professional, and solutions-focused mindset
