Motor / Light Vehicle Technician
Salary: Up to £35,000 + Regular Overtime (Time & a Half) + Pension + Company Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm, with occasional Saturday mornings (paid at overtime rates)
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Motor / Light Vehicle Technician to join a well-established and growing business with a busy in-house workshop.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a fleet of over 30 company vehicles, alongside a wide range of agricultural and grounds maintenance equipment, including tractors, ride-on mowers, strimmers, chainsaws and other machinery.
Working within a friendly and experienced workshop team, you'll play a key role in ensuring equipment and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, helping to keep the business operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair a fleet of company vehicles.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults.
- Maintain and repair agricultural and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns when required.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Complete repairs safely and efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Work independently and as part of a busy workshop team.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements.
About You
We're looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and able to use their own initiative.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience servicing and repairing light vehicles.
- Experience with agricultural plant or grounds maintenance machinery (preferred).
- An NVQ or recognised qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
- A full, clean UK driving licence (towing entitlement is advantageous).
- Welding experience (desirable).
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
