Vehicle Technician
Location: Dorchester
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 OTE (including bonuses, depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm (30-minute lunch) - No Saturdays
Our client is an award-winning automotive dealership group with dealerships and service centres across the UK. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their successful and friendly workshop in Dorchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who is confident carrying out diagnostics and enjoys working in a modern, well-equipped workshop. The business is committed to investing in its employees, offering manufacturer brand training and the opportunity to gain an MOT Tester licence if you don't already hold one.
The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles while ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete electronic vehicle health checks and produce accurate reports.
• Carry out vehicle inspections in line with manufacturer standards.
• Communicate technical findings using video health check software where required.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

The Ideal Candidate

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or a relevant automotive qualification.
• Experienced Vehicle Technician with strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Confident working independently on diagnostic jobs.
• MOT Tester licence preferred but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Positive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
