Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join one of the largest independent garage services in the Plymouth area.
Operating from a modern, well-equipped workshop, the business provides MOT testing, servicing, diagnostics, tyres and mechanical repairs for a wide range of vehicles. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a technician looking for job stability, ongoing development and a varied workload within a supportive, non-target-driven environment.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be put through the MOT Tester course as part of their development, resulting in a future salary increase.
The Role

• Carrying out servicing and mechanical repairs
• Diagnostics and fault finding
• Repairs including brakes, cambelts, head gaskets and auto-electrics
• Supporting fast turnaround times while maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Working within a professional and experienced workshop team
• Completing work to a high standard without pressure selling or upselling

Candidate Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Vehicle Repair or equivalent
• Minimum Level 2 qualification essential
• At least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician
• Confident carrying out general mechanical repairs and diagnostics
• Strong fault-finding abilities
• Full UK Driving Licence required
• MOT licence beneficial but not essential as training can be provided
