Site Manager – Civil Engineering

�� Full-Time | Permanent

We are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of infrastructure projects across Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of works on site.

This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor with a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for quality delivery across civils and infrastructure schemes.

The Role As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, manage and coordinate all site activities, including labour and subcontractors
• Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, drawings, and specifications
• Manage plant, materials, and site resources efficiently
• Oversee site health & safety, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and QA documentation
• Manage material deliveries and procurement in line with programme requirements
• Review timesheets, holidays, and attendance for direct labour
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and local communities
• Ensure high standards of quality, housekeeping, and professionalism on site

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and site delivery
• Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance
• Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively
• Good commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
• Understanding of setting out / engineering principles (desirable)

Qualifications & Certifications

• SMSTS
• CSCS (Site Manager level)
• First Aid
• NVQ Level 5/6 (or working towards)
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

• Temporary Works Coordinator
• Streetworks / NRSWA Supervisor
• Confined Spaces / CAT & Genny
• Membership of CIOB / ICE (or working towards)
