Senior Site Engineer

A well known civil engineering contractor we are working with is looking for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established contractor working across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure schemes, where you will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to the highest quality standards.
You will work closely with the Site Agent and wider delivery team, taking responsibility for dimensional control, QA processes, and supporting the day-to-day management of site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the safe and timely delivery of projects in line with programme and specification
• Carry out site engineering duties including setting out and technical support
• Ensure all works meet quality standards through QA processes, ITPs, and inspections
• Assist in managing site operations to maximise efficiency and productivity
• Maintain accurate site records including diaries and as-built information
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure performance and compliance
• Raise and manage Technical Queries (TQs) where required
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality standards (SHEQ)
• Contribute to project planning, progress reporting, and cost control

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within civil engineering
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and dimensional control
• Experience working on infrastructure projects such as highways, drainage, or structures
• Ability to manage workload in line with programme deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
• Proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• SMSTS or SSSTS
• NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management
• Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)
• SEATS or First Aid
