About Our Client
Our client provides award winning supported living and community-based services for adults and young people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Needs, and Acquired Brain Injury.
As part of a period of significant growth, including the development of new purpose-built services and care pathways. They are now seeking a Business Development Lead to play a central role in shaping the organisation's future.
This position offers real influence, autonomy, and the opportunity to work closely with the Board of Directors, contributing to service expansion and innovation in complex care provision
The organisation is open to applications from existing Business Development or Referrals Managers, independent consultants or those seeking a flexible partnership arrangement, as well as from sales-driven Registered Managers with proven business development or placement-filling experience who are ready to take the next step in their career.
The Role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will take a hands-on lead in identifying, developing, and delivering new service opportunities across the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Working closely with the Executive Team you will manage key stakeholder relationships — including Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Registered Providers (RPs).
You will play a key role in the full lifecycle of services and delivering optimum occupancy of existing services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Executive Team to manage and grow relationships with key stakeholders, including Local Authorities, ICBs, Developers, and Registered Providers.
- Complete initial due diligence for new sites, including site visits, financial analysis, and reviewing demographic and commissioning data.
- Lead the delivery of agreed new developments, including project planning, site visits, specification reviews, and stakeholder coordination.
- Oversee project management of new services up to opening.
- Support marketing initiatives for new developments and wider promotional activities.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and updates for the Board and Executive Team.
- Work alongside the Bids and Tender Teams to review and complete new tender opportunities.
- Prepare and submit costings, bids, and proposals for new placements and business opportunities.
- Provide commercial insight and ensure new ventures align with strategic and financial objectives.
The Ideal Candidate - Strong background in social care, ideally within learning disabilities, autism, or mental health services.
- Proven experience in growing supported living or complex care services, from inception through to operational launch.
- Established relationships with Local Authorities, ICBs.
- Confident managing partnerships and coordinating with stakeholders at all levels — including CEOs, Service Managers and commissioners.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and organisational skills.
- Able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver to tight timescales.
- Motivated by quality, growth, and positive social impact.
- Degree or professional management qualification (desirable).
