An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to lead our clients brand-new 4-bed children's home in Doncaster.
Key ResponsibilitiesService and Practice Management
Deliver and maintain high-quality care in line with relevant legislation, Ofsted standards and internal policies.
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
Ensure robust health and safety practices and staff compliance with training and procedures.
Oversee accurate record keeping, audits and monitoring systems for young people and staff.
Lead on admissions and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions and individualised support planning.
Prepare for and attend internal and external meetings, providing professional representation at all times.
Participate in the on-call rota and undertake sleep-in duties when required.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying development opportunities and implementing best practice.
Make informed operational decisions, ensuring the welfare and safety of all young people and staff.
Leadership, Resource & Partnership Management
Lead, mentor, and supervise the staff team to maintain high standards of care and professional conduct.
Recruit, induct, and retain a motivated and skilled workforce, ensuring all employment checks and training requirements are met.
Oversee staff rotas, absence management and expense submissions to ensure effective service delivery.
Conduct supervision sessions, appraisals, and ongoing professional development planning.
Manage staff performance, addressing disciplinary or grievance matters in line with policy.
Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring financial responsibility and sustainability.
Maintain the premises and equipment to a high standard, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external agencies, local authorities, social workers, and other professionals.
Liaise confidently with Ofsted and other regulatory bodies, demonstrating compliance and a commitment to best practice.
Represent the organisation positively in all professional and public settings, upholding values of integrity and quality care.
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven experience managing a children's residential home or similar setting.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
In-depth knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation.
Experience working with young people displaying challenging behaviours and complex needs.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational abilities.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.
High emotional resilience and commitment to trauma-informed practice.
Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this qualification.
Full UK driving licence and access to appropriate transport.

On-call payments: £25 (weekday) / £35 (weekend).
