Registered Manager Children's Home - Barnsley

Our client are seeking an experienced and passionate Dual Registered Manager to oversee two of tjheir specialist homes in Barnsley - a one-bed and a two-bed service. 
This role requires strong leadership, professional integrity, and the ability to inspire your teams to achieve exceptional outcomes for the young people in your care. You will act as a role model for high standards, supporting and developing your teams while ensuring every young person is empowered to thrive.
 
Salary: £47,381.23 per annum with the potential to earn up to £56,981.23 with bonuses
Working Hours: Primarily Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with flexibility required to meet operational needs (including sleep-ins if necessary)
 
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of both children's homes, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are consistently maintained.
• Lead, supervise, and develop a team of care workers in line with legislation, Ofsted's Social Care Inspection Framework (SCIFF), and Dove's internal policies.
• Promote positive outcomes through effective care planning, monitoring, and review processes.
• Maintain all records, documentation, and reporting systems accurately and in line with regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement by developing new approaches and contributing to organisational strategy.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and that all staff receive the necessary training.
• Oversee admissions and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions for young people entering or leaving the service.
• Take part in the on-call rota and, where necessary, provide cover for shortfalls (including sleep-ins).
• Chair internal and external meetings, representing the homes professionally and collaboratively.
• Promote a culture of equality, inclusion, and anti-discriminatory practice across both settings.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience (within the last 5 years) in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
• Recognised qualifications:
  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People).
  • QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce (or equivalent).
• Demonstrable knowledge of Children's Home Regulations, Ofsted standards and safeguarding protocols.
• Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing and motivating a team to deliver positive outcomes.
• Valid UK manual driving licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties and flexible working patterns.
