Purchasing Manager
We are looking for a Part / Qualified CIP’s Purchasing Professional to:
Manage the site Purchasing Function
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Keep track of any cost savings by updating internal system with forecasts and actuals.
Organise supplier meetings / visits as and when required including on site and at supplier premises, mainly based in the UK.
Work on any open projects as and when required.
Raising of purchase orders on approved suppliers for all raw materials, consumables and services and ensure orders are sent to suppliers.
Update internal supplier log and monitor budgets.
Monitor open order reports daily, chase suppliers if orders are late and update internal system.
Raise any for goods return notes with the good in department and liaise with the supplier.
On Fourth Shift (POAN) using the internal requisition system for inventory stock ordering.
Maintain stock levels and ensure blanket orders are correct for goods inwards.
Monitor raw material stocks weekly and ensure any issues are reported to planning / production immediately.
Weekly stationary checks to ensure sufficient office stock.
Ensure all email queries are answered within a timely manner and any issues are resolved.
Weekly catch-up meetings with the Financial Controller.
Prepare RFQ’s professionally and within acceptable timescales, ensuring competitive prices are achieved while satisfying customer, regulatory and internal process requirements. This includes group presentations and large tender for 6 or more suppliers.
Key negotiator with suppliers with support from relevant department such as production, quality and technical.
Present site results on indirect spend using PowerPoint for quarterly group/global meetings based at different sites around UK
Contract management – handling all current contract for site services, including writing termination letters when required.
Setting up and monitoring supplier performance score cards KPI’s.
MINIMUM COMPETENCIES
CIP’s Part Qualified
3+ years of experience in Purchasing
A-Level / NVQ level
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Look ups IF-ISERRORS, SUMIF, etc) and strong systems language
A solid technical background is required to satisfy external reporting requirements
Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable)
Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong communication skills
Able to create and present power point presentations.
SharePoint data management skills (desirable).
