Eating Disorder Unit
Full Time: Monday to Friday 9am until 5:30pm
Location: Barnet, London
 
Job Summary
Currently recruiting for a dietetic assistant to join a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit based in Barnet, London. You will work collaboratively with the Dietetic team, MDT and support staff to provide person-centred care for our patients. Experience with eating disorders is not essential however understanding of ED and MH is preferred. The role is full time and you will be expected to work across two sites (10 minute drive). 
 
As a dietetic assistant you role will be to understand the patients nutrition and dietetic needs, being accountable for making sure they are following the correct diet plan whilst also ensuring this is updated reflective of the patients recovery, and checking track of fluid intake. You will be promoting choice with patients, providing them with suitable options for meals and snacks, conducting community outings with patients, or in-house cooking/baking activities if required. You role will be to influence a positive and health relationship with food which is essential to our patients recovery.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Deliver dietetic support to patients and contribute to the development of the team.
• Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, nursing team, management and support staff.
• Understanding and managing weight charts, graphs and competently updating care notes for MDT meetings.
• Support patients to complete food menu’s when appropriate
• To have a mindful and sensitive approach when working.
• Create, update, print and distribute weekly menus for patients.
• Conduct monthly audits that gives an overview of fluid and food intake and also weight patterns/ fluctuations and recommend adjustments accordingly.
• Lead food-related activities with patients that may include, social lunches, breakfast clubs, social snack or cooking.
• Accurately document and update patient notes, update dietitian team, submit reports.
• Attend MDT meetings and present data/ findings when appropriate.
