Job Overview
As the specialist Occupational Therapist on-site, you will be at the heart of a new service, providing direct therapeutic support to patients and working closely with both internal and external teams. The service previously operated as a specialist eating disorder inpatient unit, but has now undergone a transition into becoming a dedicated female acute ward, all led by new management. The goal is to provide the highest standard of care and support to women experiencing acute mental health challenges.
Responsibilities

• Delivering individual and group-based therapeutic interventions to support patients recovery.
• Liaising with the multidisciplinary team, families, and external professional to ensure a holistic approach to care.
• Contributing to the development of care plans tailored to individual patients needs.
• leading occupational therapy programs with the acute ward and on-site facilities
• Promoting independence, improving quality of life, and supporting patients to achieve their recovery goals.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and social needs.
• Develop individualised treatment plans aimed at improving patients' functional abilities.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide guidance and support to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with medical standards.
• Stay updated on advancements in occupational therapy practices and techniques.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in patient care within mental health is preferred.
• Skills in case management and speech therapy are beneficial.
• Proficient in OT systems and practises
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
