The opportunity:
Join the Mount Hotham Ski Patrol Team, and support the safe management of the downhill terrain area of the resort and village.
- Deliver Ski Patrol services including emergency response, first aid, and patient transport in accordance with ARV policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Respond to on‑mountain incidents, including skier and snowboarder collisions, providing timely assessment, treatment, and evacuation support.
- Support accident prevention and risk management activities through hazard identification, assessment, control, and reporting.
- Assist with the opening and closing of ski trails and resort areas in line with conditions and operational requirements.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain ski area boundary markings to support safe use of terrain.
- Coordinate incident response activities by undertaking dispatch operator duties when requested by the Ski Patrol Manager or Supervisor.
- Collaborate with resort operations, the Medical Centre, Victoria Police, and emergency services to support integrated incident and rescue responses.
- Maintain Ski Patrol equipment, vehicles, and safety resources to ensure operational readiness.
- Accurately complete accident reports, incident documentation, and required investigations in accordance with ARV requirements.
This is an on-site seasonal role at Mount Hotham Alpine Resort where you will get to enjoy spectacular views and the unique alpine environment every day, including the challenges this brings.
Key Selection Criteria - Previous Ski Patrol Experience (mandatory)
- General knowledge of ski resort operations.
- Prior experience in customer service, tourism, or visitor‑facing roles.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team environment.
- Extensive practical first aid experience (desirable).
- Search and Rescue experience (desirable).
- Experience using ropes for climbing or rescue (desirable).
The successful candidate will be required to: - Have full Australian working rights.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
Location: Mount Hotham Alpine Resort, Victoria
Salary Range: $35.47 per hour, plus casual loading + superannuation
Contract Term: Casual, seasonal.
