The opportunity:
Join the Falls Creek Ski Patrol Team, and support the safe management of the downhill terrain area of the resort and village.
- Lead and coordinate on‑hill ski patrol activities during assigned shifts to ensure safe and effective coverage.
- Provide advanced first aid, rescue and emergency response services in accordance with legislation, industry standards and ARV procedures.
- Act as a senior escalation point for incidents, supporting coordination, reporting and post‑incident review.
- Support hazard identification, marking, mitigation and control across ski fields and trails.
- Assist with daily patrol briefings, debriefs and operational communications.
- Mentor, support and guide Ski Patrollers, including trainees and less experienced staff.
- Assist with induction, training and assessment of patrol staff as directed.
- Ensure incidents, hazards and near misses are reported accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the maintenance of incident databases, patrol records and equipment registers.
- Maintain strong working relationships with volunteer patrol groups where applicable.
- Promote professional customer service, respectful behaviour and positive visitor engagement.
- Contribute to emergency management planning and inter‑agency response activities as required.
- Model ARV values and lead by example in safety, professionalism and teamwork.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably directed, consistent with the scope of the role.
This is an on-site seasonal role at Falls Creek Alpine Resort where you will get to enjoy spectacular views and the unique alpine environment every day, including the challenges this brings.
Key Selection Criteria - Minimum five (5) years ski patrol experience in an Australian ski resort.
- Current ASPA qualifications.
- Prior experience in customer service, tourism, or visitor‑facing roles.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team environment.
- Extensive practical first aid experience.
- Advanced alpine skiing capability appropriate to the resort environment.
- Ability to work in physically demanding, high‑risk alpine conditions
- Proven experience managing emergency incidents and operational risk.
The successful candidate will be required to: - Have full Australian working rights.
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check – Employee type
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
Location: Falls Creek Alpine Resort, Victoria
Salary Range: $40.04 per hour, plus casual loading + superannuation
Contract Term: Casual, seasonal.
