The Opportunity

We’re seeking a versatile and proactive Resort Operations Staff who thrives in the outdoors. This dynamic role changes with the seasons—flexibility is essential!
Green Season (Non-Winter Months)
As the snow melts, the resort transforms into a hub for summer events and outdoor recreation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Pre-fire season preparation
- Trail maintenance across 40km of mountain bike tracks and hiking trails
- Carpark/road asphalt resurfacing
- Stormwater management works
- Supporting capital works projects
White Season (Winter) When the snow returns, your focus shifts to:
- Operating front-end loaders and MR truck as part of snow clearing operations
- Operating snow blowers and clearers to maintain safe pathways
- Building maintenance and upkeep
- Waste management and resort presentation
Note: As machinery operation is a core part of this role, holding a White Card is mandatory.
Training & Development We value growth and will invest in your success. If you’re less experienced, we’ll provide:
- On-the-job training for machinery operation and resort maintenance tasks.
- Mentoring from experienced team members to build your confidence and skills.
- Opportunities to gain additional certifications relevant to resort operations.
The Ops Team: You’ll be part of a close-knit team of 8–12 Resort Operations Officers, working collaboratively to keep the resort running smoothly. The team reports directly to the Resort Operations Supervisor, ensuring clear communication and support throughout the seasons.
To support your transition, short-term accommodation is available (at employee cost), making it easier to settle in and start your ARV journey. Plus, enjoy a 4-day condensed working week, giving you more time to explore the mountains.
Qualifications and Experience: - Experience working outdoors in a hands-on role.
- Minimum 2 years operations experience including heavy plant and equipment operating experience (desirable)
- Valid OHS induction certificate / white card (mandatory)
- Tickets: Medium Rigid licence, Front End loader & Excavator tickets, Crosscut chainsaw ticket (desirable)
- Physically capable of taking on demanding tasks in potentially harsh conditions.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and carry out instructions with minimal supervision
- Effective communication, and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy
The successful candidate will be required to have: - Full Australian working rights.
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
- Valid driver’s licence (Victorian preferred)
- Victorian Working with Children Check - Employee
- Work weekend during the ‘White Season’
Location: Falls Creek Alpine Resort, Victoria
Salary: $26.92 - $35.47 per hour (rate determined by skills, qualifications, and experience)
Contract Term: 12-months fixed term, with the potential to go permanent.
Start Date: Immediate
