The opportunity:
Are you passionate about building a strong risk management culture and driving governance excellence? We’re looking for an experienced professional to help shape and strengthen Alpine Resort Victoria’s (ARV) approach to risk and compliance.
As the Governance and Risk Advisor, you will provide expert advice and lead initiatives that ensure ARV’s governance and risk practices are robust, compliant, and future-ready. You’ll work collaboratively across teams and resorts to embed best practices, support emergency and business continuity planning, and deliver strategic insights that drive continuous improvement. Ideally, you have experience in local or state government and strong skills in interpreting legislation, regulations, and policies, enabling you to serve as a subject matter expert in governance areas such as integrity, insurance, risk management, freedom of information and privacy.
*Travel: this role does require occasional travel to ARV’s stunning resorts to support on-site implementation and engagement – a unique opportunity to combine meaningful work with spectacular natural surroundings.
Qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in governance, risk management, public administration, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in governance and risk advisory roles within public sector or similar environments
- Strong understanding of legislative frameworks, compliance obligations, and emergency management planning
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex governance and risk issues and deliver effective solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across resorts and departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
The successful candidate will be required to have: - Full Australian working rights
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests
- Valid driver’s licence (Victorian preferred)
- Victorian Working with Children Check - Employee
- Additional pre-employment and compliance checks may be required depending on the requirements of the role.

Location: Enjoy the flexibility to work from one of our stunning alpine resorts or offices in Mansfield/Lilydale. Remote and hybrid working arrangements negotiable.
Salary: $95,102 - $107,905 p/a plus superannuation
Start Date: December 2025 (Fixed-term contract up to 14 months)
