The Opportunity:
Are you ready to work where alpine landscapes meet adventure? We’re seeking a versatile and proactive Resort Operations Officer who thrives in the outdoors. This dynamic role changes with the seasons—flexibility is essential!
Green Season (Non-winter months):
As the snow melts, the resort transforms into a hub for summer events and outdoor recreation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Pre-fire season preparation
- Trail maintenance across 40km of mountain bike tracks and hiking trails
- Carpark/road asphalt resurfacing
- Stormwater management works
- Supporting capital works projects
White Season (Winter): When the snow returns, your focus shifts to:
- Operate front end loaders and MR truck as a part of snow clearing operations
- Operating snow blowers and clearers to maintain safe pathways
- Building maintenance and upkeep
- Waste management and resort presentation
*Note: As machinery operation is a core part of this role, holding a White Card is mandatory.
The Ops Team:
You’ll be part of a close-knit team of 8–12 Resort Operations Officers, working collaboratively to keep the resort running smoothly. The team reports directly to the Resort Operations Supervisor, ensuring clear communication and support throughout the seasons.
Key Accountabilities: - Deliver resort services and internal operations support.
- Apply established rules, processes, and standards
- Plan and prioritise daily tasks to achieve specific goals and objectives.
- Take responsibility for completing tasks within a supervised environment.
- Suggest improvements to enhance processes in the immediate work area.
Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum 2 years operations experience including heavy plant and equipment operating experience
- Valid OHS induction certificate / white card (mandatory)
- Medium Rigid licence (desirable)
- Front End loader & Excavator tickets (desirable)
- Crosscut chainsaw ticket (desirable)
- Physically capable of taking on demanding tasks in potentially harsh conditions.
- Experience in maintaining/building trails
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and carry out instructions with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to operate as an effective team member
- Effective communication, and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy
The successful candidate will be required to have: - Full Australian working rights.
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests.
- Valid driver’s licence (Victorian preferred)
- Victorian Working with Children Check - Employee
Location: Falls Creek Alpine Resort, Victoria
Salary: $58,539 – 65,670 p/a plus superannuation
