The opportunity:
Are you a passionate and experienced Food and Beverage professional looking for an exciting new opportunity at the snow this winter?
We are seeking someone with at least 2 years' experience who thrives in a dynamic environment and is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service, to work in our bistro.
The bistro is the ‘hub’ of the resort where our many guests come to take a break from the snow and fill their hungry bellies, so it can get very busy.
The person filling this role will need to be able to provide guidance to the more junior staff and be capable of handling customer issues with grace and professionalism, in addition to being able to step into a more senior role of Lead when required.
You will work closely with the Food and Beverage Senior Coordinator, Visitor Experience Supervisor and other team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is a family-orientated snow play park. It has the distinction of being the closest alpine snow resort to Melbourne, just a short 2 hours' drive from the city centre.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Food and Beverage Senior Coordinator in delivering a high-quality food and beverage experience for all visitors at the resort.
- Provide guidance to Food and Beverage Attendants within the bistro through morning set-ups, food preparation, re-stocking items, serving visitors, daily operations, and end-of-day pack-ups.
- Act as the first point of contact for Food and Beverage Attendants for all matters within the bistro, escalating to the Food and Beverage Senior Coordinator when required.
- De-escalate customer complaints and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
- Provide high-quality customer service when taking food and beverage orders from guests via the POS system, processing EFTPOS transactions efficiently
- Serve customers at the bistro bain-maries, with the ready-made hot and cold food options
- Clearly convey orders and communicate with the kitchen staff and other team members
Additional responsibilities when acting as the Food & Beverage Lead : - Provide coaching, training and support to all Food and Beverage Attendants.
- Ensure food is prepared in line with visitor requirements and in line with safe food handling regulations.
- Ensure venue stock levels are maintained and stored appropriately, including regular stock-takes.
- Delegating staff and ensuring staff are adhering to rosters with appropriate breaks.
What amazing skills and experience will score you this role? - Minimum 2 years’ experience in a front of house customer service role or food and beverage role.
- Victorian Food Handling certificate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Laser sharp focus for the big and small details
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines whilst effortlessly multi-tasking.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of programs including Word, Excel and general knowledge of apps/databases
The successful candidate will be required to: - Have full Australian working rights.
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence
- Satisfactorily pass a police check and random drug & alcohol tests
- Hold or be willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check - Employee
- Available to work weekends and school holidays
- Available from end of May to September 2025 (or the declared snow season)

Salary: $35.95 p/h including casual loading
