We are seeking a Director of Nursing to work in a full time (80 hours/fortnight) capacity based at Kaniva.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Nursing (DON) – Kaniva provides strategic and operational nursing leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective clinical care across the Kaniva Campus’. The role is responsible for clinical governance, workforce leadership, accreditation readiness and continuous quality improvement, while fostering a positive culture aligned with WWHS values.
The DON works collaboratively with medical staff, allied health, support services, consumers and community stakeholders to ensure services are responsive, compliant and sustainable meeting all regulatory requirements.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
Hold a current or eligible registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Have at least 5 years clinical nursing experience, including leadership at a senior level.
Demonstrate knowledge of clinical governance, accreditation standards, and quality systems.
Have the ability to lead, mentor, and mage multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and knowledge of current aged care funding requirements.
Desirable:
Hold post-graduate qualifications in nursing management, leadership, or a related field.
Have experience working in rural health and/or residential aged care settings.
PRE-REQUISITES:
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Working with Children Check.
Fully vaccinated as per current Department of Health Directives.
Australian Driver’s License.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

The ability to work flexibly across campuses as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide professional nursing leadership and accountability for clinical standards, patient safety and quality of care.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards and accreditation requirements (including NSQHS and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards).
Promote evidence-based practice and continuous improvement in clinical outcomes.
Lead and manage nursing and care teams, including Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Workers.
Ensure effective workforce planning, rostering, performance development and staff wellbeing.
Contribute to budget management and efficient use of resources at the Kaniva campus.
Any other associated duties as delegated by the Executive Director Clinical Services at any time.
