Te tūranga | The role
We're looking for motivated and safety-focused Treatment Technicians to join our Operations teams across the Waikato Region. Whether you're an experienced Treatment Technician or bring transferable process operations experience, we'll support you to develop your capability and build a rewarding career in the water industry.
This is an opportunity to play a vital role in delivering safe drinking water and protecting the environment for the communities we serve. You'll operate and monitor our water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring they run safely, efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Working as part of a supportive team, you'll be involved in plant operations, process monitoring, sampling, maintenance coordination and continuous improvement. No two days are the same, and your work will have a direct impact on the reliability and performance of our essential water services.
This role also participates in an after-hours on-call roster to support the continuous operation of our treatment plants.
Ō mahi | What you'll do
- Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure safe and reliable performance.
- Carry out routine inspections, operational monitoring, sampling and testing activities.
- Optimise treatment processes to maintain compliance and improve plant performance.
- Identify and respond to operational issues, alarms and equipment faults.
- Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate operational records and contribute to reporting and compliance requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to continuously improve plant performance and reliability.
Ō pūkenga | What you'll bring You'll have a genuine interest in water treatment, operational excellence and delivering great outcomes for our communities. Ideally, you'll bring:
- Relevant qualifications in water treatment, wastewater treatment, engineering, environmental science or a related field.
- Experience operating water and/or wastewater treatment plants, or experience in a similar process or industrial operations environment.
- An understanding of water treatment, wastewater treatment or process operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to operational issues.
- Experience undertaking operational monitoring, sampling or testing activities.
- A commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with others.
- A full New Zealand Driver Licence.
