Farm Operations Manager
Location: Danbury, CT
Reports To: Owner
Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 per year (DOE)

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Farm Operations Manager to help lead and shape the future of our growing farm in Danbury, Connecticut. You’ll work directly with the farm owners to manage daily operations, oversee construction and infrastructure projects, and develop efficient systems that support sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily operations across greenhouse production, livestock management, and property maintenance.
* Supervise, train, and schedule staff; ensure safety, quality, and efficiency across all activities.
* Plan and manage construction and improvement projects, including barns, fencing, irrigation, and other infrastructure.
* Oversee greenhouse systems such as irrigation, lighting, and climate control.
* Ensure proper care, feeding, and health of livestock (goats, poultry, and guardian dogs).
* Maintain accurate records of crops, livestock, equipment, and production metrics.
* Partner with the owners to enhance operational processes and support sustainable farm expansion.
* Assist in developing and implementing core business and operational policies.
* Lead and monitor biosecurity protocols, pest management, and disease control programs.
* Manage procurement and inventory of supplies and equipment; identify and address resource needs proactively.
* Assess and mitigate operational risks related to weather, pests, or disease through effective risk management planning.
* Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal agricultural regulations.
Required Qualifications
* 5–10 years of experience in farm management, construction, or agricultural project leadership.
* Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to execute a shared vision.
* Strong working knowledge of greenhouse operations, irrigation systems, and livestock care.
* Hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience operating farm machinery.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently with sound judgment and discretion.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field.
* Experience managing non-profit or community-based farm operations.
* Background in construction, landscape management, or infrastructure planning.
* Familiarity with regenerative or sustainable agriculture practices.
* Skills in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems troubleshooting.
