About our client:
Our client is one of Australia's most established energy brokers. 20 years in the market, Tier 1 status, and access to pricing that businesses simply cannot get going direct. Their client portal is the first of its kind in the market and is a genuine differentiator in a sales conversation.
Energy sales are unusually simple for this one reason. You aren't asking the client to pay anything out-of-pocket. You are helping them reduce their costs, so they pay less. Your biggest objection is likely to be 'it seems too good to be true'. Once Prospects understand how it works, they realise they'll get a better deal than they can ever get by themselves. From there, your conversion rate should be north of 50%.
The role:
Around 60% of your time will be spent on cold outreach, identifying and calling C&I businesses across manufacturing, retail, hospitality, construction, strata, education, mining, agriculture, and more.
The other 40% is prospecting through your existing network and reaching out to contacts you already know.
You will also be meeting clients face to face, presenting proposals, building trust, and closing in person. Deals move fast when the conversation lands. A signed contract in 4 days from first contact is not unusual.
Day to day:
- Consistent cold outreach, calling Prospects and leveraging your existing network
- Getting out of the building, visiting Prospects, attending meetups and events
- Face-to-face meetings with Prospects and proposal presentations across the Gold Coast and Brisbane
- Building referral partner relationships, the system and contracts are ready for use
- Managing a fast-moving pipeline in our client's CRM
What we're looking for: Energy experience is preferred but not essential. What matters most is a proven track record of winning new business and the discipline to do the volume.
- 2+ years in a B2B BDM role with demonstrated new business results
- An existing network of contacts you can leverage from day one
- Comfortable on the phone and confident in front of clients
- Self-motivated with a clear, structured approach to building a pipeline
- Based on the Gold Coast or Brisbane (Brisbane team in Robina office Mon & Thu)
- Humble, collaborative, and bring energy to the people around you
What's in it for you: - Salary: $85,000 Base + Vehicle Allowance + Commissions + Super
- Commission on every new C&I contract you close, from day one, no ramp period, no clawbacks, uncapped
- On Target Earnings (OTE) is $142k. Strong performers earn significantly more
- Your commission rate increases when you exceed the target, with two accelerator levels above that. The amount you can earn is uncapped
