About the Role
Our Client is seeking a capable Shift Supervisor to oversee daily transport scheduling and fleet coordination. This role plays a central part in ensuring pickups and deliveries run smoothly while maintaining strong operational efficiency across contractor fleets.
You will be responsible for planning load schedules, allocating routes, coordinating with drivers and contractors, and ensuring all deliveries meet agreed customer timeframes. The role requires strong operational awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast paced logistics environment.
You will also monitor fleet utilisation, manage operational reporting, and ensure compliance with fatigue management and heavy vehicle regulations.
This position suits someone who understands transport operations, enjoys problem solving, and takes pride in keeping logistics running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily load and delivery schedules
- Allocate loads and routes to contractor fleets
- Monitor fleet utilisation and adjust scheduling where required
- Coordinate pickup and delivery timeframes with drivers and customers
- Monitor contractor performance and resolve operational issues
- Maintain accurate data entry within transport management systems
- Prepare operational reports and KPI tracking
- Ensure compliance with safety, fatigue management, and transport regulations
- Communicate with internal operations teams to support daily workflow
About You You are organised, practical, and comfortable making decisions in a busy operational environment. You understand the importance of accuracy, communication, and keeping schedules on track.
You will bring: - Experience in transport scheduling, dispatch, or fleet coordination
- Strong knowledge of metropolitan road networks and delivery planning
- Experience working with transport management systems or dispatch software
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication when working with drivers, contractors, and customers
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a time sensitive environment
