Our Client is a well-established Australian transport provider supporting major national customers across FMCG, retail and supply chain operations. The company is known for its strong safety culture, reliable service delivery and long-term partnerships with both customers and contractor drivers.

The Role
We are seeking a Transport Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day transport operation at a major FMCG client facility in Lidcombe. This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for coordinating transport activity, managing contractor drivers and ensuring service performance and safety standards are met.

Team
You will lead a small on-site team including approximately 20 contractor drivers and 3 office-based staff, working closely with the client to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport operations and dispatch coordination
• Manage contractor drivers and transport allocations
• Ensure compliance with safety and transport regulations
• Monitor service performance and operational KPIs
• Liaise directly with the client regarding operational issues
• Support contractor onboarding and inductions
• Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency

Shift : 6.00 am - 7.00 am

About You
This role will suit an experienced Transport Supervisor, Fleet Coordinator or Operations Supervisor ready to step into a site leadership role, or a hands-on Transport Manager who enjoys being close to the operation rather than managing large corporate teams.

Requirements

• Experience in transport, logistics or fleet operations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage live operational environments
• Strong focus on safety and compliance
• Experience managing contractor fleets highly regarded
• Experience in FMCG or refrigerated transport advantageous
