QLD State Manager – Transport & Logistics
Brisbane | Up to $150,000 + Super | Senior Leadership Role

This is a genuine State Manager role with real authority, not a title role weighed down by red tape.

We’re partnering with a well-established national transport and logistics business with decades of market presence and a strong reputation for safety, compliance, and long-term customer relationships. The Queensland operation is a critical part of the national network, and they’re now looking for an experienced State Manager to take full ownership of performance, people, and profitability across the state.

The Opportunity
This role exists to lead the Queensland operation end-to-end.

You’ll have accountability for operational performance, financial outcomes, contractor and staff leadership, and customer delivery. You’ll work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership, but this is very much a hands-on leadership role where decisions are made locally and ownership sits with you.

If you enjoy running a complex operation, improving systems, lifting standards, and leading teams through clarity and accountability, this will suit you.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Full P&L ownership for the Queensland operation
• Leading and developing operational leaders, staff, and contractor drivers
• Ensuring DIFOT, service levels, and customer expectations are consistently met
• Driving cost control, productivity, and operational efficiency
• Managing compliance across fatigue, Chain of Responsibility, safety, and legislation
• Building strong, trusted relationships with key customers and suppliers
• Improving systems, processes, and performance through continuous improvement

• Clear cost control and margin management
• Confident compliance, not reactive compliance
• Customers who trust the operation and escalate opportunities, not issues

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a State Manager, Senior Operations Manager, or similar
• Strong background in transport, logistics, or distribution environments
• Commercially minded with solid financial and P&L understanding
• Comfortable leading both employees and contractors
• High standards around safety, compliance, and people leadership
• Calm under pressure, decisive, and solutions-focused
