JOB SUMMARY
A client of ours is seeking experienced Vessel Managers for full-time, on-site roles in London. Each position will be responsible for 3–5 vessels, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-efficient technical management. This opportunity suits candidates with strong engineering expertise and hands-on experience within RoRo cargo or short-sea shipping operations, who can confidently lead vessel performance, maintenance, and compliance.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for the vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:
• Proven experience as a Vessel Manager or Technical Superintendent
• Strong technical knowledge of shipboard systems and engineering practices
• Second Engineer (Class 2) Certificate of Competency or higher
• Experience in RoRo cargo or short-sea shipping operations
• Sound understanding of SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM and ISPS requirements
• Current Legal rights to live and work in the United Kingdom ideal
(While our current focus is on identifying candidates who are already legally authorised to live and work in the United Kingdom, there is flexibility for visa sponsorship and relocation for exceptional candidates with proven RoRo, RoPax, ConRo vessel management experience.)
• Experience managing budgets and maintenance schedules
• Ability to travel for vessel attendances and inspections
• Valid UK or EU driving licence
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Manage the technical operation of 3–5 vessels ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
• Plan and oversee maintenance programmes, dry-dockings and surveys
• Monitor vessel performance and initiate corrective actions where required
• Conduct quarterly vessel inspections and implement audit follow-ups
• Coordinate spares and procurement through assigned technical officers
• Support incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
• Prepare and manage vessel budgets within approved parameters
• Provide technical guidance to onboard teams and shore stakeholders
