JOB SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a dependable Bookkeeper in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The role suits a hands-on professional with strong reconciliation skills, sound knowledge of accounting principles, and a track record of maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.
Please note that this vacancy is open only to candidates currently residing in Walvis Bay or those actively relocating to Walvis Bay, who are Namibian citizens or hold the legal right to live and work in Namibia.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:-

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 2–3 years’ bookkeeping experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
• Proficiency in accounting software, with excellent Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to deliver under deadlines

Nice-to-haves

• Experience preparing VAT returns and other compliance submissions
• Experience with SAP or similar systems
• Exposure to logistics, maritime, or related industries

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

• Record day-to-day financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure correct coding
• Process accounts payable and receivable with timely payments and collections
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and other balance sheet accounts
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Monitor cash flow and maintain petty cash records
• Assist in preparing VAT and other statutory returns
• Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain orderly and secure filing of financial documents and records
• Provide administrative support as required
