JOB SUMMARY
A client of ours is recruiting for an experienced Operations Supervisor to manage commercial and operational tanker responsibilities across Time Charter and Spot vessels. The role is best suited to someone who has strong coordination skills, understands charter parties, and is confident handling documentation, voyage instructions, and stakeholder liaison across a global network. You will report to the Manager – Tanker Chartering and Operations and support daily operational performance for a fleet of 5–10 vessels, including CPP, DPP, and Methanol tankers.

With offices and teams across key global shipping hubs, they provide expert commercial and operational management across various cargo types and vessel configurations.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for the vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:

Core Must-Haves

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in tanker operations
• Strong understanding of Charter Parties, LOIs, and Bills of Lading
• Experience with CPP, DPP, or Methanol tankers
• Ability to manage voyage execution, demurrage, documentation
• Proven coordination with shipowners, charterers, and agents
• High attention to detail and IT competency
• Excellent communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Sea-going experience
• Dual-fuel/LNG tanker familiarity
• Exposure to EU ETS reporting
• Experience working with global teams 

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Commercial operations of Time Charter In/Out Methanol tankers
• Support CPP and DPP spot vessel operations
• Dispatch voyage orders, coordinate berthing, appoint agents
• Coordinate with Chartering Manager and international stakeholders
• Monitor cargo stowage, voyage logs, and vessel performance
• Settle demurrage and verify charter hire, brokerage, and insurance
• Prepare documentation, including LOIs, Bills of Lading, ETS reporting
• Liaise with ship managers and port authorities for smooth vessel turnaround
• Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Visit vessels/terminals and attend drydocks for operational familiarisation
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual terms across all voyages
