Our client is a large national pioneering manufacturer and supplier of packaging.

  
JOB SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a mature, well rounded maintenance manager (comfortable managing multi-disciplinary fields in a heavy industry setting) and who is ready to make a step-change to the maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and the optimal functionality of equipment. 

  
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:

• Graduate Engineer (mechanical or electrical) and registered with ECSA as ‘professional engineer’
• Government Certification of Competency
• 2+ years heavy industrial manufacturing experience
•  2+ years experience in a supervisory/management position

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Lead and manage day-to-day maintenance activities across a multidisciplinary team, ensuring optimal plant and equipment functionality
• Implement world-class asset management systems, such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Develop and oversee maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high safety and operational standards
• Optimize plant operations, focusing on energy efficiency and production output improvements
• Conduct root cause analyses and ensure preventive maintenance plans are executed
• Manage capital and expense projects from installation to commissioning, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
• Collaborate with other departments to improve overall plant reliability and address any equipment or production issues
• Foster a safety-first culture within the engineering and maintenance teams
