JOB SUMMARY
They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join their Johannesburg office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics sales, excellent relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of freight forwarding and supply chain solutions. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth, expanding the client base, and strengthening the company’s presence in the South African market.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.
- Strong understanding of project forwarding, sea freight, road freight, and air freight solutions.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop long-term client relationships and foster business growth.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating with global teams.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Existing network within the logistics and transportation industry is a strong advantage.
JOB DESCRIPTIONThe role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Developing and executing sales strategies to drive business growth in logistics and freight forwarding services.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building a strong pipeline of potential clients.
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Conducting market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Preparing and presenting proposals, quotations, and service agreements tailored to customer needs.
- Collaborating with internal teams, including operations and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs set by the company.
- Representing the company at industry events, networking functions, and trade exhibitions to enhance brand visibility.
