Our client is a JSE listed shipping & freight logistics company with a global footprint allowing for first class cross border logistics, connecting Africa's commodities with the world.

JOB SUMMARY
Our client is looking to secure the permanent services of a skilled Customs Entry Operator to join their team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customs clearance processes, road bond management, and liaising with service providers to ensure timely cargo delivery.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you should have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• 2-year Customs-related qualification at NQF level 3
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customs and import processing, with at least 2 years in a Customs framing entry capacity
• Practical experience in cross-border customs clearance is essential
• Strong understanding of Tariff Classification and Tariff calculation concepts
• Knowledge of INCO Terms and relevant import/export regulations
• Proficiency in Compu Clearing and/or Shipshape systems

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Processing Customs Clearances for road/rail imports, exports, RIB, and RIT shipments
• Managing Ex-bond Entries (XDP, XIB, XE) and Road Bond Acquittal
• Tracking cargo and scheduling deliveries to meet deadlines
• Regular communication with Principals, Service Providers, and Transporters
• Ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems and Standard Operating Procedures
• Adhering to all relevant Acts and International Trade Principles
