About the role:
Reporting to the CFO, the Risk & Insurance Lead is a pivotal role responsible for driving the organisation’s risk, insurance, compliance, and business resilience frameworks. You will provide expert guidance to leaders across the business while ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, and organisational preparedness. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and strategic professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and embedding a strong risk culture.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and continuously improve the organisation’s risk management framework, ensuring alignment with ISO 31000 and relevant Australian standards, including facilitating risk assessments and assurance activities
- Manage the end-to-end insurance program, including renewals, claims, broker and insurer relationships, and policy compliance across all coverage areas
- Drive business resilience and crisis preparedness, including business continuity, emergency management, and crisis management frameworks, training, and scenario testing
- Oversee compliance management, maintaining the compliance framework, register, and reporting on obligations, breaches, and corrective actions
- Support internal audit activities, including planning, coordination, tracking actions, and partnering with the CFO to strengthen governance and controls
- Deliver reporting and stakeholder engagement, providing high-quality insights to the Board, executive, and leadership teams while promoting a strong, no-blame risk culture
About you: - Qualifications in Risk Management, Insurance, or a related discipline
- Proven experience across risk, insurance, compliance, and business continuity
- Strong knowledge of ISO 31000 and risk frameworks
- Experience managing insurance programs, including claims and renewals
- Background in compliance and internal audit processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and GRC systems
