Achieve Australia is a for purpose community organisation that provides services to people with disability and an NDIS- registered provider.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our 10-bed respite service at Summer Hill House, working with both children and adults ranging from infancy through to 70 years of age.
About the role:
This is a unique opportunity to provide high-level clinical care to people living with severe to profound intellectual and physical disabilities, many of whom have extremely complex medical needs.
In this role, you will be delivering hands-on care and support including:
- Tracheostomy and ventilation management
- Enteral feeding (PEG/NG)
- Bowel care
- Complex seizure management
- Palliative care
You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team (MDT), contributing to the development and ongoing review of complex care plans, while advocating for the needs, safety and wellbeing of each individual.
Role Responsibilities: - Support clients with high and complex medical needs
- Provide safe, person-centred clinical care in a respite setting
- Develop, review and update individualised care plans
- Work collaboratively with families, support staff and allied health teams
- Advocate for clients to ensure the best possible outcomes
- Promote dignity, independence and quality of life
To be successful in this role, you will need: - Tertiary qualifications or equivalent including holding a current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Ability to transport clients in Achieve Australia vehicles (automatic gearbox) across the region. Candidates without a current NSW driver’s licence are subject to a risk assessment.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current NDIS and WWCC certificates
- Awareness of human rights and challenges facing individuals with disabilities.
- Experience in working with and supporting adults and/or children with complex disability.
