Purpose of the role – Disability Program Officer
The Disability Program Officer will play a key role in supporting research and project activities that aim to shift community attitudes towards disability. Working closely with the Program Director and Project Manager, the role will involve coordinating with research and implementation partners, assisting with grant administration, and contributing to the smooth delivery of project objectives. The incumbent will provide flexible support across a range of tasks, ensuring projects are well-organised, delivered on time, and aligned with the organisation’s mission to foster greater disability inclusion.

Role Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Program Director and Project Manager on activities related to the Changing Attitudes project
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such as implementation, research and funding partners, and steering committee and co-design panel members. This will involve working with the project team to develop workshops, compiling feedback from advisors, administrative tasks such as ensuring advisors’ invoices are processed efficiently
- Preparation of reporting and other documentation
- Preparation of website content and social media posts related to project activities and outcomes
- Write papers as required (background, product development and research), including:
- Reviewing academic and grey literature
- Participating in research projects involving interviews / focus groups
- Support grant application and management for the project
- Other duties as required
To be successful in this role, you will need: - Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
- Advance level of written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders in a range of styles as well as ability to write detailed reports and submissions
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work with strict deadlines with minimal supervision, including working on multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload effectively to meet competing deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Lived experience of disability an advantage
