Purpose of the Senior Employment Support Officer role
To provide support, training and direction to supported and Disability Employment Service (DES) funded employees to develop their skills, maximise their independence, and achieve job satisfaction, whilst also providing assistance with the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Ensure all documentation and processes for supported employees is up to date and compliant. Provide support and direction to Employment Support Officers.

Role Responsibilities: As a Senior Employment Support Officer, your responsibilities include:
- Provide employment support to a team of employees to effectively work within a warehouse environment.
- Develop training packages for supported employees through the creation of social stories and visualisation.
- Perform job analysis for the management of supported employees, tracking NDIS individual funding and managing health and behavioural issues.
- Provide supported employees with assistance regarding terms of employment including individual NDIS plans and NDIA funding outcomes, their employment contracts, workplace rosters and workplace duties.
- Coordinate work analysis and assessment processes for employees, documenting progress for each employee, maintaining file records within Achieve Australia’s data systems.
- Provide specific training to supported employees.
- Support operational management in monitoring employee compliance with WHS policies and procedures.
- Provide the employees we support with assistance regarding their terms of employment including their employment outcomes and reporting requirements, employment contracts, workplace roster and workplace duties. Liaise with Employment Agencies as required.
- Ensure all relevant documentation and associated processes for supported employees is up to date, compliant, accurate and correct; and in line with NDIA and Achieve Australia requirements.
- Coordinate and provide ‘on-the-job’ training for employees to enhance workplace abilities, skills and enable employees to be able to work independently.
To be successful in this role, you will need: - Knowledge and experience with people who have a disability and/or barrier to employment.
- Knowledge of the workings of the NDIS as this program impacts on and compliment the maximising of employment opportunities for people with a disability or barriers to employment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of employees, supporting and guiding the employees, coordinating and troubleshooting responses to workplace incidents, concerns or ‘when things go wrong’ for these individuals.
- Experience in delivering training – on the job (work to be done etc.) and broad-based workplace training (procedures etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of the critical importance of providing high standard customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and supervise people.
- Ability to transport clients in Achieve Australia vehicles (automatic gearbox) across the region. Candidates without a current NSW driver’s licence are subject to a risk assessment.
