Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of Supported Employees in preparing and cooking meals.
- Foster an inclusive and positive work environment, providing hands-on training and guidance.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and quality standards are maintained.
- Plan and prepare menus in line with dietary requirements and customer needs.
Work collaboratively with support staff to ensure employees feel empowered and valued. - Maintain a safe and organized kitchen, adhering to WHS and industry standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need: - Passion for food and inclusion – A love for cooking and a desire to support people with disability in a workplace setting.
- Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery).
- Previous experience working with people with disability is a bonus but not essential.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills – Patience and the ability to adapt your training style to different learning needs.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and ability to maintain compliance in a commercial kitchen.
- A team player with a positive attitude who is willing to make a real impact.
