About the role
Provide effective and efficient validation and processing of invoices to customers, including receipting of payments received and application of adjustments to transactions.
Also, provide support to the Senior Payroll & Payments Specialist with payroll when required.
What you’ll do
- Being first point of contact for all external and internal invoice queries
- Assisting new customers with the onboarding process including explaining terms of trade
- Provide consistent high-quality customer service by accurately and efficiently processing accounts receivable transactions, handling enquiries and preparing reports including timely receipting of payments received and associated reconciliations with the bank records
- Creation of invoices and credit notes ensuring compliance to delegation of authority and agreed timelines
- Customer master file data is up to date and accurate, with associated approvals including filing of documents received
- Regular review of outstanding amounts (i.e., Aged Debtor review)
- New and changed debtor details are processed ensuring appropriate approvals, including ABN review
- Prepare and post allocated month end journals
- Prepare relevant monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations
- Apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) consistently to deliver timely and compliant accounts receivable/ payroll processing, to ensure the service complies with legislation, policy and standards
- Effectively use a range of systems and processes to undertake work
- Calculate and process payroll adjustments to ensure the accurate administration of salary, associated claims, industrial award entitlements within legislation and policy
- Process complex and special conditions of employment, payroll, reconciliations and related data which may include payroll variations and accurate payments
- Provide data reporting and analysis in line with business requirements to inform salary accuracy and consistency
About you - 5+ years’ experience in Quote to Receipt functions in a medium to large organisation
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance or similar favourably regarded
- Involvement in finance-related process improvement projects essential
- Advanced Excel and project management skills
