Standards Australia (SA) is the peak standards development organisation in Australia, with a rich history that dates back to 1922. Currently, we are undergoing a significant transformation and growth phase. About the role  

This role is a mixture between writing and creative storytelling and would suit someone who has a keen interest in working for an organisation with a strong social purpose.  You will be focused on creating excellent, well-crafted copy across various mediums.

What you’ll do 

• Produce original content for internal and external communications channels, such as Websites, E-Newsletters, Social Media, etc.
• Liaise with the Senior External Communications Manager, committees, senior leadership team and executives on potential media interest stories
• Develop relationships with journalists & editors
• Respond to media enquiries
• Incept, lead and project-manage small, non-complex communications projects
• Work with agencies and consultants to assist with deliverables
• Assist in developing communications and social media strategy & planning

 About you 

• Excellent writing, grammar and editing skills with a thorough understanding of the craft
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a Communications Officer or similar / higher role
• A strong interest in all things digital and social
• Great presentation skills
• Experienced with engaging Executive and Senior Leadership
• Agency experience is advantageous
• Not-for-profit experience is advantageous
