About the role
You will drive internal and external software development and testing practice. This position is responsible for the management and performance of the development and quality assurance team, working in collaboration with project and service delivery teams to enable Standards Australia’s digital ambitions.
What you'll do
- Lead and Manage the Development Teams to achieve their best by creating a high-performance culture
- Work with the Product Owners and the Delivery Manager to plan and execute projects
- Establish accurate estimates for timelines and ensuring projects meet deadlines
- Drive the SDLC by managing and coordinating resources and continuously deploy high-quality releases
- Establish modern software development practices including agile, CI/CD pipelines, code management and peer reviews
- Establish reliable application testing practices using a mix of automation and other techniques
- Manage performance of offshore and vendor teams, ensuring consistency of work output and high levels of engagement
- Develop and maintain a wide range of technical capability in the team, including full stack development, Salesforce, Mulesoft and Native App development
- Promote the design and development of customer centric solutions with a focus on high quality and cost efficiency
- Manage the team, by facilitating formal employee performance reviews, administering short to medium terms objectives and providing regular ad-hoc feedback
- Attract talent, motivate the team, and keep them highly engaged
About you
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams
- Proven leadership experience using modern practices and tools; more specifically extensive exposure to full-stack software engineering, quality assurance and testing
- Strong management experience with a record of attracting and growing great teams
- Strong .NET, enterprise integration, and web application architecture experience
- Experience with secure software development tools and practices
- Passion for bringing the right talent into the organisation, maintaining diversity, and keeping the team engaged
- Extensive experience supporting multiple cross functional teams through the development lifecycle to deliver continuous value at scale
- Extensive experience leading testing and quality assurance teams into an automated/continuous testing methodology
- Extensive experience managing external providers to develop solutions in line with business requirements and company software development and testing practices
- Demonstrable involvement or engagement with the Development, Continuous/automated testing and Agile community
- Experience with configuring, integrating to and testing SaaS solutions
