About the role
You will lead standards development delivery across the ICT sector portfolio,
ensuring projects are progressed with discipline, transparency and alignment to sector priorities, regulatory settings, and emerging industry needs.
Central to the role is proactive stakeholder engagement across the sector ecosystem; including committee chairs, nominating organisations and technical representatives.
The role drives sector engagement and strategy through effective governance oversight, relationship management and strong committee cohesion and
performance, enabled by leading and developing a high-performing team aligned to stakeholder expectations.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver proposals, projects and publications, setting clear objectives and performance expectations, providing coaching and feedback
- Build and sustain trusted strategic relationships with key associations, nominating organisations, committee chairs, government and other sector stakeholders
- Represent Standards Australia externally as required at conferences, forums or providing input to public policy submissions
- Accountable for end-to-end standards development delivery across the sector portfolio; from proposal and prioritisation through drafting, public comment, approval, publication and periodic review
- Provide senior leadership and governance oversight to technical committees, including committee health, composition, capability and succession, and act as the primary escalation point
- Oversee delivery planning and performance across the portfolio, including prioritisation, resource allocation, sequencing, risk management, reporting and issue escalation
- Ensure consistent and proportionate application of standards development policies, processes and governance requirements across the sector
- Align sector standards activity with relevant international and overseas programmes (including ISO and IEC), supporting coordinated Australian participation where required
- Manage international standards development projects and international committees
- Provide sector intelligence and insight to inform organisational strategy, prioritisation, strategic initiative proposals and reform initiatives
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, quality, stakeholder experience and ways of working across the sector portfolio
About you - Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in relevant field
- Strong people management experience, leading high performing teams
- Experience developing, mentoring and supporting staff
- Proven project management experience
- At least five years’ experience in a similar stakeholder engagement, policy, advocacy, program or delivery leadership role, including work across government or industry associations
- Experience managing a broad portfolio of responsibilities in a complex environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes to agreed timeframes
