About the role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Sector Lead – Building to join Standards Australia.
Reporting to Senior Manager, Building this role supports the delivery of standards development activities across an assigned portfolio.
The role combines structured project coordination with proactive stakeholder engagement, supporting the effective operation of technical committees and the progression of standards proposals, projects and international participation.
Working closely with the Senior Manager and engaging with industry stakeholders, committee members and internal teams, the Sector Lead contributes to the development of high-quality standards that support safety, innovation and industry outcomes across Australia.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will support the coordination and delivery of standards development projects while maintaining strong stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of national and international standards development projects within agreed scope and timeframes
- Assisting in planning and tracking project milestones, risks and issues using enterprise project systems
- Preparing agendas, minutes and documentation for committee meetings
- Coordinating meeting logistics and supporting structured, inclusive committee discussions
- Supporting consultation processes, ballot activities and publication workflows
- Maintaining accurate stakeholder and committee records in CRM systems
- Assisting stakeholders with project proposals and supporting documentation
- Supporting Australian participation in international standards development activities
- Ensuring standards development policies and procedures are applied consistently
- Responding to stakeholder enquiries and supporting committee participation
About you
You are a highly organised professional who enjoys coordinating projects and working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will bring: - Experience in project coordination, administration, stakeholder support or similar roles
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within deadlines
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience facilitating meetings or supporting committees or working groups
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholder groups
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
