About the role We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable & Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a 9-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role plays an important part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. The primary focus will be managing end-to-end Accounts Receivable activities, while also reviewing and coordinating the accuracy of outsourced payroll processing.
You will be joining a collaborative finance team currently working through new systems and evolving processes, so the successful candidate will be comfortable learning quickly, asking questions, and supporting the team to ensure smooth BAU operations.
What you’ll do - Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable processes, including invoicing, credit notes and receipting
- Perform bank and AR reconciliations and assist with aged debtor reviews
- Respond to internal and external invoice and payment queries
- Maintain accurate customer records within the ERP system
- Support the preparation of month-end journals and reconciliations
- Review and coordinate the accuracy of outsourced payroll processing
- Investigate and resolve payroll adjustments or discrepancies
- Work closely with the finance team to support process improvements and system adoption
About you - 5+ years’ experience in Quote-to-Receipt (Accounts Receivable) functions within a medium to large organisation
- Strong experience coordinating payroll processes, including calculating adjustments, managing complex employment conditions or variations, performing reconciliations, and applying relevant awards, legislation, and privacy principles
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline (highly regarded)
- Experience contributing to finance-related process improvement initiatives
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong organisational and stakeholder communication skills
Highly desirable: - Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
- Experience with Employment Hero payroll system
