About the role
Work with various stakeholders to deliver Standards Australia’s data strategy, including the creation of data management procedures to support the business. Define and deliver strong data governance policies and practices across SA.
What you’ll do
- Champion and support an organisational understanding of the role of data
- Understand and contribute to the definition of the type of data captured across the business
- Develop and define data governance policies and procedures
- Define data management processes
- Define and monitor data quality across Standards Australia
- Monitor alignment to data governance policy, standards and best practices for data management
- Improve the design of data stewardship and governance processes in alignment with Standards Australia’s data strategy and roadmap
- Collaborate and partner with the Security and Architecture Team and other stakeholders to support the data solutions build and to assure best governance practices are in place for the current and future data solutions
- Establish, educate and promote best practices for dashboard and visualisation management
- Ensuring large and complex data is accessible, understandable and usable
- Support leaders and managers in developing dashboards, reports and control systems
About you - Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure
- Experienced in Power BI
- Exposure to GIT, Python and SQL
- Demonstrate clear commercial outcomes of the work and projects you've delivered
- Good understanding of data governance best practices
- Good understanding of legal compliance requirements including the Privacy Act
- Experience in definition of data governance policy, data management procedures, definition of data quality standards and monitoring adherence
- Exposure to data governance principles and processes
- Experience in utilising data governance tools such as MS Purview or equivalent
- Knowledge and hands on experience of data management practices including metadata management, lineage and data quality
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Business, Statistics or IT preferred)
- Excellent understanding of, and familiarity working with XML
- Good understanding of data repository systems (business intelligence infrastructures)
- Intermediate to advanced skills required in visual report design, with a strong appreciation of how to present data in a meaningful way
- Experience in data governance, data management or strategy delivery
- Knowledge of Data Governance Frameworks and related industry frameworks (COBIT, ISO27001, GDPR, DMBOK, etc.)
- Knowledge of ML/AI Governance Frameworks and related government and industry frameworks (e.g., ISO 42001)
