About the role
You will strategically maintain and grow relationships with external stakeholders to support standards development activities and to identify and advance adjacent and revenue generating opportunities for the organisation.
The team also monitors, analyses and develops key insights on sector trends, stakeholder priorities and market developments to inform SA’s strategic engagement, ensure successful representation of the organisation and strengthen alignment with national priorities.
This role will specifically focus on the following sectors: Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Circular Economy.
What you’ll do
- Proactively lead engagement activities with stakeholders, nominating organisations, government agencies and departments, and contributors to advance sector-specific opportunities
- Establish, build, maintain, and manage new relationships with stakeholders to enhance SA's reputation and position the organisation as a trusted partner across standards and adjacent initiatives
- Provide timely strategic advice to Executive leadership on emerging issues, trends and opportunities for the organisation
- Support standards development activities in close collaboration with project and program managers
- Advocate and represent SA at external conferences, forums and external committees
- Support the Growth & Development team by providing sector insights, stakeholder contacts, and intelligence to inform opportunities, project design and delivery
- Monitor and engage with public policy developments relevant to the sector, providing strategic input to ensure SA’s work aligns with and informs government priorities and regulatory frameworks
- Contribute to project proposal targets and engage with Engagement Officers to develop high-quality proposals
About you - Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in business, arts, politics, law, communications, engineering or other relevant fields
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar stakeholder engagement, policy or advocacy role, including work across government or industry associations
- Experience within either the Manufacturing, Agriculture, or Circular Economy sector is advantageous
- Experience in managing a broad portfolio of responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
