About the role
Oversee all purchasing activities across the company. This new role is critical to ensuring compliance with our Procurement and Supplier Security Policies and maintaining appropriate due diligence reviews on both new and existing vendors.
The role will require a high level of procurement experience & initiative to reshape our procurement processes, utilising efficiencies & controls within the Microsoft Dynamics F&O ERP system.
The Vendor Manager will apply sound commercial acumen to purchasing decisions to ensure there is recognisable value for money and build strong relationships with key internal & external stakeholders.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement vendor management strategies aligned with our company objectives
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with the company’s Procurement & Supplier Security Policies
- Conduct due diligence on new and existing vendors, reflective of the scale & commitment with the vendor to assess quality, reliability and compliance
- Prepare & present Business Cases to evaluate and determine new vendor engagements
- Negotiate contracts and agreements in collaboration with Inhouse legal counsel to secure favourable terms and conditions
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to foster long-term partnerships
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify procurement needs and streamline processes
- Maintain accurate records of vendor agreements, due diligence, transactions and performance evaluations
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in vendor management
- Ensure purchasing decisions are performed in accordance with our delegation of authority matrix
- Routinely conduct market research to identify new vendors and cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare and present procurement reports to the ELT & SLT, detailing expenditure by vendor & cost category and efficiencies achieved
About you - Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of vendor management or procurement experience within a commercial organisation
- High level of initiative, with a proactive and forward-thinking attitude
- Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in financial systems, particularly with purchasing processes, experience with Microsoft Dynamics F&O ERP is advantageous
- Familiarity with procurement policies and compliance standards
- Proven involvement in purchasing related process improvement projects, with a focus on automation, compliance and efficiency gains
