About the role
Lead the delivery of organisational strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth, customer value, and market relevance.
Working across retail, licensing, partnerships, and emerging markets, this role ensures that SA’s commercial activities deliver against commercial objectives and targets, are innovative, data-informed, and aligned with strategic objectives, and deliver measurable outcomes that contribute to SA's long-term success and impact.
What you’ll do
- Develop and oversee the commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and national and international market opportunities
- As project sponsor, lead the exploration of new and innovative ways to generate sustainable long-term revenue for the company
- Ensure accurate forecasting and drive revenue generation across multiple channels including direct sales, digital platforms, licensing, and strategic partnerships
- Explore and implement new commercial models to diversify income streams
- Ensure growth plans are in place with each commercial partner, seeking to grow new net revenue to Standards Australia in a sustainable and deliberate way
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and deliver commercially viable products and services that meet client and broader market needs
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of potential joint ventures, and strategic investments aligned to Standards Australia’s core purpose and business strategy
- Lead the conduct of due diligence, financial modelling, and risk assessments to support Executive and Board decision-making
- Clearly articulate the team's vision and direction, balancing daily operational management with strategic thinking, critical thinking, and proactive risk management
- Foster a culture of support by setting clear expectations, providing real-time constructive feedback, effective training, one-on-one coaching, mentoring to drive high performance
About you - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Commerce, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience in commercial leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth in complex or regulated markets
- Extensive experience in contract negotiation, licensing, partnership development, and new business models
- Demonstrated P&L ownership and accountability
- Deep understanding of Australian competition law and commercial risk frameworks
- Proven ability to lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams and drive results in mission-driven or not-for-profit environments
- Extensive demonstrable record of leadership in senior management roles
- Strong experience in leading and developing a team
