About the role
Provide effective and efficient processing, verification, and reconciliation of the fortnightly payments to creditors. This includes independently managing the end-to-end Procurement to Payment cycle with a strong emphasis on continual process improvement. Additionally, the role encompasses month end tasks. The Payments Specialist will also assist with the implementation of new systems and the design of improved workflows. This role will also provide occasional support with payroll, as required.
What you’ll do
- Being the first point of contact for all internal and external accounts payable queries
- Processing of payments ensuring compliance to delegation of authority, coding, and approvals. Payments include creditors and remittances (e.g., taxes, SGC), including foreign currency payments and Recipient Created Tax Invoices (RCTIs)
- Regular review of outstanding liabilities (i.e., Aged Creditor review)
- Management of PO (Purchase Order) process
- New supplier and change supplier process, including ABN review
- Corporate credit card transactions using dedicated systems
- Employee expense transactions including interface to payroll reimbursements
- Management of bank balances and internal transfers
- Prepare and post allocated month end journals
- Prepare relevant balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide timely and appropriate resolution to issues on consolidated invoicing
- Support the payroll function, as required
About you - 5+ years’ experience in Procure to Payment functions within a medium to large Australian organisation
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting
- Experience with payroll and finance systems such as Employment Hero and Microsoft F&O is an advantage
- Proven involvement in finance-related process improvement projects, with a focus on automation, compliance, and efficiency gains
- Exposure to payroll is advantageous
