Our client is a family-owned sheep and grazing enterprise located on the Dumaresq River, just south of Texas, QLD. Operating across three properties within a 50km radius, they offer a supportive, close-knit and down-to-earth working environment. With plenty of work on at the moment, they're looking to strengthen their team with a capable Stockperson.
Reporting to the Owners, this is a hands-on livestock position working across both sheep and cattle operations. Daily responsibilities include mustering, drafting, animal husbandry, waters, fencing checks, lambing/calving support, weaning and general property maintenance. The role also involves record keeping and contributing to the smooth running of the broader operation.
Key Responsibilities & Duties: - Handle daily livestock tasks including mustering, drafting, husbandry and animal checks.
- Maintain property infrastructure including waters, fencing and general upkeep.
- Assist with seasonal activities such as lambing, calving, weaning and record keeping.
- Operate plant, vehicles and equipment safely across all property operations.
Selection Criteria: - Demonstrated livestock experience, including sheep (essential) and cattle.
- Reliable, motivated and able to work both independently and in a small team.
- Confident operating bikes, utes, machinery and performing yard work.
- Genuine long-term interest in livestock, rural living and contributing to the business.
Additional Particulars: - On-farm single accommodation provided.
- Sheep dogs welcome: no pig dogs (and dogs not used on cattle).
- Candidates encouraged to bring their own horse if would like to ride; some pen riding may be available.
- Must hold a current driver's licence; own vehicle preferred.
- Salary negotiable based on experience
