Our client is a family-owned and operated cattle station located in the Eastern Pilbara region of Western Australia, northeast of Newman and south of Nullagine. Spanning 1 million acres, the station runs approximately 11,500 Droughtmaster and Brahman cattle, offering a genuine large-scale pastoral experience in a remote and rewarding environment.
Reporting directly to the owners, this role is suited to individuals who are practical, reliable, and willing to learn or build on existing cattle station experience. Ideal candidates will enjoy remote work, physical tasks, and being part of a small, hardworking team. Roles commence in April 2026, beginning with maintenance work before transitioning into the main mustering season from May through to mid-September/October, with the possibility of returning next season for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities & Duties: - Mustering cattle using 2-wheel motorbikes and assisting with drafting and general cattle yard processing.
- Carrying out general station maintenance including fences, paddocks, and yards.
- Feeding cattle and supporting day-to-day livestock operations.
- Servicing and maintaining bikes, vehicles, and equipment.
Selection Criteria: - Ability to confidently ride a 2-wheel motorbike in off-road conditions.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to follow instructions.
- Commitment to staying for the full season.
- Driver's licence and own vehicle essential.
Additional Particulars: - Single accommodation provided (workers' quarters), with camping during mustering (BYO swag).
- All meals supplied and WiFi available at quarters.
- 12 days on / 2 days off roster (including alternate weekends).
- $37 per hour remuneration, negotiable based on experience.
- Candidates must be honest about skill level and willing to learn and multi-skill.
- Clean, tidy, and sober habits required.
- Dogs permitted but must be controlled (cages/chains required); not used for work on station.
